We are grateful you want to know more about Springfield Bible Church, and we hope that you will be encouraged by your visit with us. It can be intimidating visiting a church for the first time. We hope the following information might answer a few of your questions and make your first visit easier!
From 9–10 am we offer Sunday School classes for all ages. When you walk into the main entrance, greeters will welcome you and direct you to one of the two adult Bible classes. If you have kids, bring them too! We will direct them to their age-appropriate class(es) and then guide you to the adult Bible class of your choice.
From 10:00–10:30 am, there is a break between the conclusion of the Sunday School classes and the beginning of the worship service. This is a great time to get to know new faces. Most folks congregate in the foyer and visit over coffee and donuts. Also feel free to enter the main sanctuary and prepare yourself for the worship service.
Our Worship Service is from 10:30–11:40 am. During this time, we sing praises to the Lord (primarily hymns but also more contemporary songs as well) and join together in prayer. We also partake of the Lord's Supper each week, remembering the finished work of Christ and "proclaiming the Lord's death until He comes" (1 Cor. 11:26). After the Lord's Supper, we examine God's Word together as a sermon is preached from a particular passage in the Bible. For parents wishing to send their kids to "Children's Church," they can do so after the Lord's Supper and before the sermon.
We want you to dress in whatever clothes that are comfortable to you. You will see folks wearing jackets & ties as well as jeans & shorts. Bring your Bible, and if you don't have one, we have Bibles available for you to use in all of our pews. If you have more questions, feel free to contact one of our pastors, John Standard (email@example.com) or Johnnie Standard (firstname.lastname@example.org).
God bless you!
